Makcon provides forklift rental across Saudi Arabia with a fleet ranging from 1.5-tonne warehouse forklifts to 16-tonne heavy industrial units. Every machine in our fleet is Aramco and TUV certified, maintained to manufacturer standards, and available with or without a licensed operator.
We are based in Al Khobar in the Eastern Province, which means fast mobilisation to Dammam, Jubail, Dhahran and the surrounding industrial areas where most of our clients operate. We also serve Riyadh, Jeddah and project sites across the Kingdom.
Get a Forklift QuoteChoosing the right forklift comes down to three things: the load you need to move, the surface you are working on, and whether the environment is indoors or outdoors. Here is a plain breakdown of every forklift type in our Saudi Arabia fleet and the jobs they are best suited for.
Diesel forklifts are the workhorse of outdoor construction sites, logistics yards and port-adjacent operations across Saudi Arabia. They handle rough, unpaved surfaces confidently, operate in full sun and Saudi heat without battery performance drop, and can run double shifts without charging downtime.
Electric forklifts are the right choice when you are working inside a process plant, enclosed warehouse, cold store or any space where diesel exhaust cannot be tolerated. They are quiet, produce zero emissions at point of use, and are increasingly required on petrochemical and pharmaceutical sites in the Eastern Province.
Saudi Arabia's construction and infrastructure sites — particularly in the Eastern Province, NEOM corridor and remote oilfield areas — often have uneven, sandy or gravelled ground that standard forklifts simply cannot handle safely. Rough terrain forklifts are built specifically for these conditions, with large pneumatic tyres and higher ground clearance.
LPG forklifts sit between diesel and electric — they run on liquefied petroleum gas, produce significantly lower emissions than diesel, and can be used both indoors and outdoors. They are a common choice for large distribution centres, supermarket logistics and food-grade warehouses where diesel fumes are unwanted but full electric charging infrastructure is not in place.
A telehandler — also called a telescopic handler — combines forklift and crane capabilities in one machine. Its extendable boom lets you place loads at height and reach over obstacles, which makes it indispensable on construction sites where materials need to be lifted to upper floors or placed behind barriers.
Tell us what you are moving, where you are working and how heavy the loads are. We will match the right forklift type and capacity to your job — and if a telehandler or manlift would serve you better, we will say so.
No hard sell. Just the right machine for your project.
Ask Our TeamRenting a forklift that is too small is a safety risk. Renting one that is unnecessarily large increases your cost and can cause floor damage in enclosed spaces. Use this guide to find the right starting point, then confirm with our team.
| Capacity | Typical Use | Common Industries | Recommended Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5t – 2.5t | Palletised goods, drums, packaged materials, light warehouse work | Warehousing, retail, light manufacturing | Electric or LPG — indoor use |
| 3t – 5t | Steel coils, machinery parts, heavy pallets, plant and yard work | Construction, manufacturing, oil & gas yards | Diesel — outdoor or mixed use |
| 5t – 8t | Pipe bundles, heavy equipment components, bulk containers | Petrochemical, port-side, heavy industrial | Diesel or rough terrain |
| 8t – 12t | Large machinery, transformer bases, heavy plant components | Power, oil & gas, large construction projects | Heavy diesel — confirm ground bearing |
| 12t – 16t | Very heavy industrial loads, pressure vessels, large structural steel | Aramco, SABIC, heavy engineering sites | Heavy industrial diesel — engineered lift plan recommended |
Not sure of your load weight? Most pallets of building materials weigh between 800kg and 1,500kg. A standard 20-foot container weighs 2,200kg empty and up to 28,000kg loaded. When in doubt, go one size up — it is always safer and the rate difference is smaller than most people expect.
There are plenty of forklift rental companies in Saudi Arabia. Here is what consistently brings clients back to Makcon — not from our marketing, but from the problems we actually solve:
Our certification documentation — third-party inspection records, TUV certificates, operator licences and Aramco approval paperwork — is prepared and ready before the forklift leaves our yard. That means your gate pass process goes through on the first attempt, not the third.
For standard forklifts in the 2.5t to 7t range, we can often mobilise to Dammam, Dhahran and Al Khobar area sites on the same day as your request. For Jubail Industrial City, we typically need 24 to 48 hours to coordinate gate passes.
We keep a dedicated maintenance technician available around the clock for our rental fleet. When a forklift breaks down on your site, we send a technician within hours. If it cannot be repaired quickly, we replace the machine. Your work does not stop because our equipment has an issue.
Many clients on oil and gas sites in the Eastern Province are required to use certified operators rather than their own labour. We supply experienced forklift operators with valid Saudi licences and, where required, current Aramco certifications.
If your project also needs a crane, a generator or a low-bed trailer, Makcon handles it all. One contract, one site contact, one invoice — instead of coordinating three separate rental companies on the same deadline.
Forklifts are one of the most universally needed pieces of equipment on any project in the Kingdom. Here is how different industries in Saudi Arabia actually use them day to day:
Moving pipe spools, valve assemblies, equipment skids and bagged chemicals inside and around plant facilities. Aramco and SABIC sites require certified operators and documented pre-use inspections before a forklift can operate within the fence line.
Unloading deliveries, moving rebar bundles, positioning prefab panels and handling materials around congested multi-trade sites. Diesel and rough terrain forklifts are the most common requirement on large civil and structural projects across the Eastern Province.
Loading and unloading trucks, stacking palletised goods, managing inventory in distribution centres and bonded warehouses. Electric forklifts are popular in this sector because they keep running costs low and avoid fumes in enclosed storage environments.
Feeding production lines with raw materials, handling finished goods and moving heavy components between workstations. Industrial forklifts in the 5t to 16t range are common in steel fabrication, machinery manufacturing and large equipment assembly operations.
Container yard operations, ship-side cargo handling and bulk material movement at Dammam Port and Jubail's industrial port areas. Heavy diesel forklifts and reach stackers are the primary equipment in these environments.
During plant shutdowns, forklifts move catalyst bags, scaffolding materials, replacement parts and equipment to multiple work fronts simultaneously. Short-term wet hire with an operator is the standard arrangement for shutdown scopes in Jubail and Dhahran.
Makcon's forklift fleet is based in Al Khobar and serves the entire Kingdom. These are our most active service areas:
Dammam's port, industrial zones and commercial construction projects generate strong daily demand for forklift rental. We mobilise to most Dammam locations within 24 hours from our Al Khobar yard. See Dammam service →
Jubail Industrial City has strict vendor and certification requirements. Our fleet is fully Aramco and SABIC compliant. We manage gate passes and all pre-entry documentation for projects inside the Jubail industrial zones.
Our home base. Same-day forklift delivery is available for most Al Khobar locations depending on machine availability. Call us in the morning and in many cases we can have a forklift on your site by early afternoon.
Dhahran is Aramco's headquarters and one of the most documentation-intensive areas in Saudi Arabia for equipment entry. Our Aramco-approved forklifts and certified operators clear the gate without delays on every deployment.
We supply forklifts to Riyadh and Central Region construction, warehousing and logistics projects. For long-term Riyadh contracts, we position equipment locally to reduce transport cost and improve mobilisation speed.
We deploy forklifts to Jeddah, Yanbu, Tabuk, NEOM project sites, remote construction camps and anywhere else in the Kingdom where your project needs a machine.
Call or message us with your location and we will confirm transport time and cost the same day.
Get a QuoteForklift rental pricing in Saudi Arabia varies by machine type, capacity, rental duration and whether you need an operator. Here is how our rental structure works:
One to five days. The right choice for one-off deliveries, emergency cover when your own forklift is down, or short project phases. Daily rates include a standard number of operating hours — confirm when booking.
One to four weeks at a better effective daily rate than single-day hire. Common for fit-out works, plant shutdowns and short contract phases where daily hire becomes uneconomical after two or three days.
The most cost-effective option for ongoing construction or industrial projects. Monthly rates are significantly lower per day than weekly, and most active project sites in Saudi Arabia run on monthly forklift hire cycles.
For projects running six months or more, we offer fixed-rate contract hire with dedicated equipment, scheduled maintenance built in, and priority response for breakdowns. Ideal for major EPC and infrastructure contracts in the Eastern Province.
All forklift rentals are available as dry hire (forklift only, you supply the operator) or wet hire (forklift plus a Makcon-certified operator and basic preventive maintenance). Fuel is not included in standard rental rates but we can arrange diesel delivery to your site on request. For a specific price on your requirement, contact us directly — we respond the same day.
Renting a forklift from us takes one phone call or one email. Here is what happens from that point to machine on site:
Share the forklift type or capacity range, site location, start date and rental duration. If you are not sure about capacity, describe the heaviest load you need to move and we will advise.
We check fleet availability, confirm the right forklift for your job, and send a clear quote with the daily or monthly rate, operator option, and transport cost to your site.
For Aramco, SABIC and Jubail Industrial City sites, we prepare the full certification pack — TUV certificate, inspection report, operator licence, gate pass application — before the forklift moves.
We transport the forklift to your site on a flatbed or low-bed trailer, offload and position it ready to work. Pre-start inspection is done on arrival and documented.
Our maintenance team is available 24/7 during the rental period. For wet hire, the operator reports daily to your site supervisor. Any technical issue is responded to within a few hours.
When the job is done, we collect the forklift, sign off the rental record and close the contract cleanly. For ongoing projects, extending the hire is as simple as a call or message to your account contact.
These are the questions clients and procurement teams actually ask us before booking. We have answered them here as clearly as we can.
Forklift rental rates in Saudi Arabia vary based on the machine capacity, type (diesel, electric or rough terrain), whether an operator is included, and the site location. As a general guide, standard diesel forklifts in the 2.5t to 5t range typically hire at rates between SAR 350 and SAR 700 per day on a dry hire basis, with monthly rates offering substantially better value. Heavy industrial forklifts above 8 tonnes attract higher rates. Contact us for an accurate quote for your specific requirement — we respond the same day.
Yes. Saudi Aramco requires all equipment operating within its facilities to hold valid third-party inspection certification, and operators must hold current Aramco operator certifications. All forklifts in Makcon's rental fleet carry current TUV inspection certificates and Aramco approval. Our operators hold valid Saudi government licences and, for sites inside Aramco facilities, current Aramco forklift operator certifications.
Dry hire means you rent the forklift only — you are responsible for providing a licensed operator and for day-to-day refuelling. Wet hire means the forklift comes with a Makcon-certified, licensed operator who is managed and paid by us. Wet hire also typically includes basic preventive maintenance during the rental period. Most oil and gas sites in the Eastern Province prefer or require wet hire so that operator certification responsibility sits with the equipment supplier.
Yes. For standard forklifts in the 2.5t to 7t diesel range, same-day mobilisation from our Al Khobar yard is possible if you contact us before mid-morning. For sites in Dammam and Al Khobar, we can often deliver within three to six hours of confirming the booking. For Jubail Industrial City, 24 to 48 hours is more realistic because gate pass processing takes time regardless of how quickly we can prepare the machine.
Electric is almost always the better choice for indoor work inside a petrochemical plant or enclosed industrial facility. Diesel forklifts produce carbon monoxide and particulates that are unacceptable in enclosed spaces where process gases may also be present. Electric forklifts produce zero exhaust emissions at point of use, operate more quietly, and are less likely to create ignition risks. Most SABIC and Aramco plant facilities specify electric forklifts for indoor materials movement as a standard HSE requirement.
A standard forklift lifts loads on fixed forks at the front of the machine — it cannot reach upward or extend beyond its own length. A telehandler has an extendable telescopic boom that lets you place loads at height (up to 17 metres on some models) and reach over obstacles. You need a telehandler when you are placing materials on upper floors of a building under construction, working in spaces where you cannot drive directly under the drop point, or when the drop zone is behind scaffolding or other barriers. See our full telehandler rental page for more detail.
For a standard rental, we need your company commercial registration, a signed rental agreement, and confirmation of the site address and access requirements. For sites inside Aramco, SABIC or Jubail Industrial City, we also need the name of the responsible person at site for gate pass applications. We handle all the equipment documentation from our side — you do not need to provide inspection certificates or operator licences because these come with the machine.
Yes. For unpaved construction sites, rough terrain forklifts with large pneumatic tyres and 4WD capability are the right choice. Standard warehouse forklifts with solid tyres will struggle or become unsafe on soft, sandy or uneven ground that is common on new-build construction sites across the Eastern Province and in remote areas of Saudi Arabia. When you contact us, tell us about the ground conditions and we will recommend the appropriate machine.
Tell us your project location, load requirement and start date. We will confirm the right machine, check availability and send a quote the same day. No lengthy procurement process. No vague "call for pricing" runaround.
